As this is a full-time school-based training, a training allowance is rather unusual. A training grant according to BAföG regulations is possible.
WHAT ARE MY ACTIVITIES IN THIS JOB?
Chemical technical assistants prepare or carry out chemical examinations and test series. They take samples, e.g. from industrial production or the environment. They select the chemicals and equipment required for the analysis and prepare the test set-up. During the test, they control and observe the apparatus and measuring instruments. They record the procedure and the results on the computer.

WHERE CAN I WORK?
The chemical technical assistant is an established laboratory profession that is needed, for example, in analytical laboratories of chemical industrial companies, at universities or at state and municipal investigation offices.
WHAT REQUIREMENTS MUST I MEET?
- Advanced technical college entrance qualification/ higher education entrance qualification or
- Intermediate school leaving certificate
- The basic requirement is an average grade of 3.5 or better or promotion to the upper secondary school level.
- Good basic knowledge of mathematics and the natural sciences
