What is the content of the course of studies?
The practice-oriented course builds on the respective educational contents in the professional modules, and specific skills on the basis of nursing and therapy disciplines are taught.
Specialization in occupational therapy: e.g. living environments in the context of occupational therapy, client-oriented interaction and consultation.
Specialization in speech therapy: e.g. evidence-based therapy and therapy evaluation, speech therapy self-image change.
Specialization in nursing care: e.g. assessment of nursing care requirements, nursing diagnostics.
Specialization in physiotherapy: e.g. motor system and motion control, professional ethics of physiotherapy.
Interprofessional modules promote expertise for common professional patient and client care: e.g. case management in integrated care, health and social research, work on projects, collaboration in projects (online module), start-ups, scientific work.
Further, profiling by choosing a study specialization in healthcare: Patient education and counselling, prevention and intervention, application of rehabilitation.
Where can I find employment later on?
Flexible use in different sectors and healthcare facilities, for example, hospitals, rehabilitation clinics, medical practices, outpatient care services, other medical and therapeutic facilities, speech therapy kindergartens. In what fields/subject areas can I work?
Graduates carry out therapeutic or nursing care or the care of people with health problems and support their caregivers. They can describe, control and design work processes in a comprehensible manner. They have a grasp of theoretical and empirical research findings (evidence-based practice) as well as the scientific basis for the analysis of selected subject-specific theories and concepts, and are able to initiate and consolidate an inter-professional dialogue using appropriate methodological and personality-related skills. Graduates are able to build up a network of experts from science and practice on their own initiative and to call for and foster patient-oriented cooperation of all professional groups involved.
What are the entry requirements?
- General higher education entrance qualification, advanced technical college certificate, vocational qualification and three years of professional activity.
- Proof of relevant professional training (qualified to use professional title), followed by at least ten months of professional experience.
What costs will I incur as part of my studies?
€ 290 per month (total € 10,440) plus Bachelor’s examination fee of € 490.
