What are my Activities in this job?
The medical-technical radiology assistance works in an environment of high-tech medicine. It perform radiological examination procedures on a doctor’s instructions in order to detect and record diseases and injuries in the human body. In doing so, she independently applies X-rays: for example, in images of bones and organs, in vascular imaging and in computer tomography. In addition, medical-technical radiology assistants work in magnetic resonance imaging, radiation therapy and nuclear medicine. Here they use sensitive examination equipment that is used to cure serious diseases – such as cancer.
WHERE CAN I WORK?
As an MTR, you will mainly be employed in hospitals and specialist practices for radiology.
WHAT REQUIREMENTS MUST I MEET?
- General or subject-linked university entrance qualification
- Intermediate school-leaving qualification or
- Interest in natural sciences
- Good to very good grades in physics, mathematics and biology
- Careful and precise way of working
- Health suitability
